For those who know the difference

ABOUT

When you embark on your cabinetry project with Unhinged, you will experience seamless design, distinct fabrication, and precise installation. We value building strong relationships with you, our partner in the process. This allows us to develop a deep understanding of your unique needs. At Unhinged, we use both traditional and cutting-edge construction methods, perform highly detailed workmanship, and are committed to the craft of woodworking. We surround ourselves with an outstanding community of fellow cabinetmakers, architects, engineers, designers, contractors, and builders; all who share our dedication and values.

Laura Fuoco, founder and owner of Unhinged, honed her skills and workmanship at the renowned North Bennet Street School. This is where she began developing her expertise through their Cabinet and Furniture Making Program, where she learned the importance of hand skills and a profound understanding of the fundamentals of woodworking. She prides herself on incorporating this knowledge into current and contemporary work, specializing in technical veneer skills, to create heirloom-quality cabinetry. Her appreciation for period furniture grew immensely as she came to understand the demands of making historically accurate pieces, although she won't deny her affection for mid-century furniture and modern design! Outside the shop, Laura has two children, lives in Chestnut Hill, and can be found hiking and competing in agility with her dog Rookie, mountain biking, weightlifting, playing pickleball, or doing just about anything active - including racing high-performance motorcycles at the racetrack - for fun! She has curated and shown her work at many furniture shows at venues including the Lexington Arts and Crafts Center, the Fuller Craft Museum, and the Old Schwamb Mill. Her work has also been exhibited at the Concord Museum, and she has appeared as a guest woodworker on the Rough Cut TV show, showcasing her talent with veneer.

John Lammi, head builder at Unhinged, has been building custom cabinets since graduating from Monty Tech in 2003. His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and knowledge of all things in the construction world is simply outstanding. John is not only an excellent cabinetmaker, but he is also a guarantor that every single thing will be done perfectly and correctly. He is a master craftsman with the mind of an engineer. His bio is drama free, concise and to the point because that is exactly who he is - someone anyone should want on their team.

At Unhinged, we're committed to honoring your goals, needs, desires, and preferences. We roll with the punches, problem solve on the fly, and maintain our sense of humor, all while relentlessly exceeding expectations.

We love what we do and would love to share that with you.
